I dyed my hair black with this stuff for six years and I went to get my hair lightened and this shit didn't budge... Seriously... They bleached my head as much as they could without horrendous damage and it was still black as tar.

really??? ive used that stuff a lot. and last time i tried to bleach it it barely lightened, a few dark brown highlites came of it. that may be why. or it might just be because youve been dying it black for so long.

When I bleached my hair out, the black took forever, but it all came out within 1-1 1/2 hours.

I assumed it was because I dyed it black for so long, but I was at the salon for FIVE HOURS and the black still didn't come out. Now the top six inches of my hair is a deep brown with some highlights, but the rest of it is still black. I don't want to cut it because my hair is a little past the middle of my back, so I'll just grow it out and keep getting my roots dyed brown.

I used to dye mine black with L'oreal. It took 5 hours of bleaching to get my hair a orange-ish color. I feel for you.

Did they do a silk cap? Cause that'll suck the color right out. I died my hair black for a while. Pretty much all through junior high. When you dye it black for a long period of time it over processes your hair and its a son of a bitch to get out. You pretty much just have to let it fade for a while then try bleaching it again.
